As a result of the pandemic and the cost of living crisis, many people are struggling to purchase food at the moment. We felt it was important to include lots of information about food banks and other useful sites on our website for those who need it. Please see below for information relating to the Bristol area.

Food Banks:

Carpenters Food and Support – emergency food supplies for those in Withywood, Hartcliffe and Bishopsworth – The Withywood Centre, Queens Road, BS13 8QA

Counterslip Cares Foodbank – Counterslip Cares Foodbank provides emergency food support based on the Eatwell Plate to address hunger and improve health in Hengrove, Whitchurch and the surrounding areas – Counterslip Baptist Church, 648-652 Wells Road, Whitchurch, BS14 9HT


FareShare South West – FareShare South West are one of 21 similar centres across the country, redistributing in-date surplus food that would otherwise have gone to waste to charities, schools and community groups.

FoodCycle Bristol – FoodCycle collects surplus produce locally from independent retailers by bike, and uses these ingredients to prepare nutritious meals to be served to the community as a Saturday lunch at Barton Hill Settlement. – Easton Christian Family Centre, St Jude’s, Bristol, BS5 0SQ

Refresh Food Bank Bedminster – A charity based in East Street, South Bristol reaching out to the poor and in our community with a variety of different support strategies – 81 East St Bedminster Bristol BS3 4EX

The supplies most required by food banks may differ between areas, so it is important to check with your local food bank what kind of supplies they’re most in need of at the moment. An easy way to do this is via their individual websites or Facebook pages.
